Root Canals

Root Canals

There are a few reasons why someone might need a root canal. The most common reason is when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected. This can happen due to decay or a crack in the tooth. Other reasons include an abscess (a pus-filled pocket that forms around the root of the tooth) or trauma to the tooth.

If you think you might need a root canal, it’s important to see a dentist as soon as possible. An infection in your tooth can spread to other parts of your body, which can be very dangerous. A root canal is a relatively simple and straightforward procedure, so there’s no need to delay treatment.

If you do need a root canal, your dentist will first numb the area around your tooth. They will then make a small hole in the tooth so they can access the infected nerve. Once the nerve is removed, the inside of the tooth will be cleaned and sealed. In most cases, you will need to have a crown (a type of artificial tooth) placed over the tooth after a root canal.

If you’re worried about root canals, talk to your dentist. They can answer any questions you have and help put your mind at ease.

It Sounds Scary But Leave It To Us

At Your Olathe Dentist, we understand that a root canal can be a daunting prospect. However, our expert team is here to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Root canals are a common procedure that we perform regularly, and we have a great deal of experience in ensuring that our patients are comfortable throughout.

At Your Olathe Dentist, we use the latest technology and techniques to ensure that your root canal is as successful as possible. We will carefully clean and remove the damaged tissue from your tooth, before filling and sealing it. In most cases, you will only need one appointment to complete the procedure.

Once your root canal is complete, your tooth may be slightly weaker than it was before. However, it will still be functional and will not require any special care. We will usually recommend that you have a crown fitted to help protect your tooth in the future.
