What to do before you get here

General first aid while you are on your way. It is not a substitute for being seen, so call us first.

Knocked-out tooth

Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently, keep it moist in milk or tucked in your cheek, and get to us fast.

Broken tooth

Rinse with warm water, save any pieces you can find, and hold a cold compress on your cheek to limit swelling.

Toothache

Rinse with warm salt water and floss gently on both sides of the tooth in case something is stuck there.

Bleeding

Bite down on clean gauze with firm, steady pressure. If the bleeding will not stop, treat it as a medical emergency.

Swelling

Hold a cold compress on the outside of your cheek. Do not use heat, and do not put aspirin on the gum.

Lost crown or filling

Keep the crown and bring it with you. Avoid chewing on that side and keep the area clean.

Common questions

Can you see me today?

Often, yes. Call (913) 780-0011 as early in the day as you can. The earlier you call, the better the chance we can fit you in before we close.

What if it is after hours or the weekend?

We are open Monday to Thursday 8 to 5 and Friday 8 to 2, and closed on weekends. Leave a message and we will call you back when we open. For severe swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or a serious injury, go to the nearest emergency room.

Do I need to be an existing patient?

No. New patients with a dental emergency are welcome. Bring your insurance card and a photo ID if you have them.

How much will it cost?

It depends on what is wrong, which is why we look first. We will tell you the cost before treatment starts. Most insurance is accepted, and flexible financing is available.

I am nervous about the dentist. Can you help?

Yes. Tell us when you call. Dr. Tony and our team will explain each step before it happens and go at your pace.
